  • I can't understand why this was banned in the UK and why they censored and edited "out" some portions of this great film. It's a high Gothic romance with elements of horror. It was a vampire love story with excellent acting, writing, direction, atmosphere and grand orchestral music. I guess audiences coming out of the 50's (this movie's year is 1960) objected to the theme of Satan, witches and dark magic.

  • @TheAmericanEvita The UK has been ever so sensitive to horror themes, and loved to substitute alternate titles, too. What a pity!

  • ok i dont know if this is the movie, but there were a couple of old black and whites i remember as a kid. only snippets but the guy gets stabbed in the back and left for dead in a cemetary, only to save the day by carrying a stone cross that when the shadow hit the bad guys, they burst into flames. in the second one, smoke or mist would enter a bedroom and the top part would come down and smash who was ever in the bed. any help?

  • the first was HORROR HOTEL (1960) with Christopher Lee and Patricia Jessel.

  • Great film!

  • when i first watched this at 14, i would be very turned on by the hypnosis scenes, to look in her eyes, and come under her spell as the script suggested. i realised years later this was a fetish called erotic hypnosis! i enjoy this mind thought of women having a power over me. thank you barbara for starting me off!

  • Great Movie they just don;t make them like this, had never seen this movie until a friend suggested to watch it bloody marvelous.

  • I enjoyed watching this movie,

Barbara Steele so fantastically beautiful. Is there any chance of you uploading Chamber of Horrors starring Patrick O'Neal. I haven't seen it in years and would love to see it.

  • I saw this film as a 12 year old boy and as an impressionable young boy, I can remember the size of Barbara Steele's bresats making such an impact on me when she was lying on the table dressed in black. Her dark hair and statuesque features imprinted an image on my mind that I have not forgotten in the 50 years since.

  • it´s a soothing thought that long after an artist is gone his work still is admired treasured and celebrated. the things one creates might live on and give us so much pleasure.looking into the fabric of the once so little recognized Artist now comes to good justice among us. Too bad Bava isn´t with us anymore for we would like to thank him and honor him for his consistency against a sea of ignorant Bystanders when it first came out. here on the tube is a short doc. in which Bava shows his tricks

  • Many thanks for the upload. Great photography, a few impressive moments. And the Goddess.

  • Awesome movie - thanks for uploading!
