What a cute kid!
I am a 2nd year medical student and we're studying neurology right now. We recently had a lecture on apraxia and I thought I'd look up some examples on YouTube. I came across this video.
Great video. He looks like a really bright kid and enjoys the camera!
I am interested in pediatrics and I think that watching this video will be helpful should I come across a little guy like him during my education. Oscar has taught me something and I thank him for that. Thank you!

what a hero.....best wishes

Thanks for this - as a student in communication sciences and disorders, this vid was a great real-life example of this disorder to help in an education that has so far offered none!

I remember my dad was doing similar conversations with me as a child for recording and I hated it. I couldn't speak proper at that time, but understood every word. So I had my own language and no interest in changing this. The developing of speaking followed later by itself. And the way of teaching in our society for me is like committing a cake recipe without ever baking the cake. For me, useless knowledge. I can understand his behavior and like his sense of humor with this situation.

thank you
I have apraxia my self. Im 13 years old and male, but my apraxia was never as bad as a lot of peoples are. But i studder often. I recomend trying to continue oscar's speech therapy. I went to the doctor like once a month back before i started kindergarten. Then once i started kindergarten my school had a speech class that took away from my recess time but it was fun. I recomend trying to get him into a elementry school that offers speech therapy even if it takes away their recess. It helped me.

@austbot He actually started off in a pre-K special ed class. Then he had full day Kinder in special ed and he received speech, OT and APE and it never took away from his other activities. For 1st grade he did 1/2 day special ed and 1/2 day general ed with speech and OT and now for 2nd grade he is full day general ed and he does still receive speech. I have NEVER stopped his speech. We did through the insurance because I lost our insurance but he has always received it from the school.

@austbot (cont) as a matter of fact the speech he receives now is actually in the classroom so that he doesnt miss anything.

@michellepurple3 He started with sign language, then did your average speech therapy till 3. After that he went to another speech therapist who used talk tools ( horns and straws ) with him as well as receiving speech through the school district. I think it was just the amount of therapy he received ( along with the practice at home each day ) and some great therapist that helped us.
