Servant Song - Cover

A remake of an old song i learned in Mass in Catholic elementary school. I had forgotten about it until i was in church a few weeks back praying on the role of the Christian within the realm of social justice, specifically looking at Christ as the manifestation of solidarity, and our call being to be as Christ, to be the gospel by coming into others sorrows and brokenness and bringing light and hope and redemption, being used by the Lord to affect hearts that then affect the world. So, here goes. To God be the glory, in all things.

Lyrics:

Just wondering what the composer thinks of yr version. Revamp? No! Rewrite? Yep Though your not the first, and you won't be the last to come up with another tune. I'll ask him when I see him next!

man i'd love to know too! if you happen to come across him, let me know. and share my thanks- my community has used his version in morning worship, as I did often growing up.

in regards to predecessors and followers in rewriting: I hope there will be many. part of the beauty of God's bride is the ability for the church to maintain truth while engaging with and even adopting parts of the surrounding culture. it frees us to diversity in music, as we worship the same, triune, everlasting God.

Dude you're really good!! I'm on a church design team and we sing a lot of the more contemperary songs on retreats and things. This is one of my favorite songs. So I'm gonna show this to my councelor and try and update our version of the song to something a little more like yours!!! Hope that won't bother you
