Just glad they listed CRV as a tax. I know they say "you can get it back by recycling." Still not sure how I get 5 -10 cents per can back when the collection places are paying by the pound.
The video is more depressing then anything. Depressing because nothing is ever going to change about it.
Californians pay one of the highest tax rates in the nation. At a time of recession, higher taxes would stifle economic growth and hurt the middle and lower classes when we can least afford it.
I was also sent this video by George Runner. I told him that the people that we hired to work for us were going to be remembered when it came time to fire them for not doing their job. Talk about wasting...they are getting paid to drive the state into the ditch just like Bush did the country. Don't pay for anything just charge it. Don't earn your pay, just complain about how everyone else does their job. The just don't get it!
Im disappointed that Senator Runner is flinging blame instead of trying to come up with a solution. And increasing spam to boot. Perhaps he should send an email out listing things hes offering instead of blame, especially since either he or his wife has been in office long enough to effect some change. Shame on you Mr. Runner, you are adding to fear we already have without any positive alternatives. I say Good Day to you sir!
I was sent this email by Senator Runner. I responded with: Dear Senator Runners Office, This republican-slanted email blaming democrats isinappropriate, considering that republicans have their fair share of blame in why we are where we are today.
I was sent this video when I complained to my state legislator for not resolving the budget. I come from the state with the highest property tax and the highest graduation rate. Here you don't want to pay taxes to educate your kids, cops to catch them when they become gang members, prisons to keep us safe. You get what you pay for. It costs $8000 to educate a kid and $41,000 to incarcerate them. CA gets what it pays for. Want 911? A firetruck? Who should be paying? Alaska???
Whether we like taxes or not, are able to pay them or not, once the government increases taxes, then we're all going to have to pay it. Once the taxes have been installed, we're really not gonna see it. We all like to live in California, but some people just aren't willing to take care of the debt that we're still in. Yes, we didn't contribute to it, but that doesn't mean that California doesn't need to take care of it. That's just how the system works. lol
Truth be known I ain't sure theirs anything we don't pay taxes on! Folk's I ain't nowhere near rich and I get tired of the EXCESSIVE taxes. Sometimes I think the Government holds some poor Folks back.
Good outweigh the bad? Maybe the CEO's of the world can afford to pay, but the middle class can't. Furthermore, as a CEO, you would never allow the kind of waste and inefficiency that occurs in government! The simplistic view is to believe that dumping more money into government without accountability is going to solve California's budget mess. And by the way, it's the Democrat's coddling public employee unions with fat pensions and 14 paid holidays that got us here in the first place.
GREAT video!
