Round Top, TX is the last place you'd expect to find a gourmet cafe, so that's exactly where Bud Royer opened his roadside stop. Now folks from all over come to see "The Pie Man."
I have eaten here and this place is wonderful! We stopped off just to have lunch and a slice of pie and ended up eating about three slices and buying three whole pies to bring to family. If you are ever traveling down US Hwy. 290 between Austin and Houston, take a little detour to Round Top. You will not be disappointed. PS...Try the buttermilk pie
Was there yesterday and WOW is all I can say. Whole family loved it and we will return....this will be a frequent stop on our trips to San Antonio.

Mmm... I just love those rustic, not-so-perfect-looking pies made by hand. They taste so good. You can taste the love in them :9 Yum
