The second guy is my brother and the girl is his fiances sister. They went there hiking and a couple said there was a second waterfall somewhere so they went looking for it. They never knew about the deaths and injuries that had happened there until after they were rescued. They would never do this on purpose. And no, they weren't spray painting graffiti. They just took a wrong turn that ended up horrible. I'm just glad that they are alive right now.

@NotSoOldHippy Spray painting idiots have become a problem up in the hills for some years now. They even ruined the informative plaques within the Cobb Estates.

I've hiked much of those mountains as I lived on Loma Alta for many years but moved to So. Oregon last year.
Air rescue crews offer an invaluable service to hikers and equestrians and my hat off for them! I used to watch them fly over my house in awe of their skills flying that big bird.

@altadutch The spray paint problem is being addresses, at least some of it is. Check the CrystalLakeCA page on Facebook, we'll be creating a spray paint task force to clean that crap up.

A lot of people died in Eaton so far this year, sub-experienced people who thought they would go for a little walk in the park or maybe the mall and went far beyond their experience level. With Summer winding down there will be fewer and fewer call-outs and deaths but Easton will probably claim a few more by year's end.
