Thank you, doctor.
you are the bravest man among many self righteous people who want to see (unsolvable)suffering among people with problem.

I will be running a test myself very soon but the pressure inide the tank was around 200-bar A normal North-American gas cylinder. The gas output pressure was 7psi or 0,5 bar. There was 80-cubic feet of gas in the tank. The flow lasted for 8-minutes. The cylinder was 2-feet or 60-centimeters tall without the handle.
The time you lose when the bag fills is gained as the bag empties, IF you hurry FAST and empty your lungs real quick! You only need 5-minutes inside the bag.

@JonesHenry03 So the flow only lasted for 7 minutes and the cylinder is now empty? That is a very short time. I thought with the right setup you could get at least an hour of flow at a safe rate which would be 15 LPM(liters per minute). This tells me that you need something to control the flow like a flowmeter. What was the cylinder pressurized to when you started the test?

@DRLAPAGLIA Wikipedia States "Deprivation of oxygen in the presence of carbon dioxide creates panic and a sense of suffocation (the hypercapnic alarm response), and struggling even when unconscious, whereas anoxia in the presence of an inert gas, like nitrogen, helium or argon, does not."

Ok tests have now been carried out with 80-cubic feet of comperessed Nitrogen gas, wich is around 22-european metric liters. The gas flow lasted for 8-minutes with the gas output pressure of 0.5 bar or 7 psi, and with around 20 european metric liters that would be around 7-minutes of gas flow. The old gas should stay long enough in the bag for new gas to come to replace it. Suffocation happens in 4-6 minutes.

I actually heared from a friend in Canada that a Nitrogen Cylinder of 80-cubic feet is only 60-centimeters high, wich is even better! So basicly it's less than 3-feet tall. I would personally recommend that. Even better!

Try a Nitrogen tank of 40-cubic feet instead, with 14 psi gas output pressure.

If I had a terminal illness, such as Alzheimers, I would prefer to use the services of the non-profit organization, "Dignitas", in Switzerland, where assisted suicide is legal & ethical, anything less is a barbaric suicide, However, the alternative methods are to obtain a lethal dose of Pentobarbital and do it by self, only *lastly* should you use the *very problematic* "Helium Exit Hood/Bag Method" - your body still goes through a "Hypercapnic Response", and the hood can easily tear off.
-
What's the pressure on output of the gas flow fitting?
Just knowing about the Exit Bag with helium gives me a peace of mind: knowing that I could end this all if it all becomes unbearable. So, it is a sort of narcotic: gives strength to go another mile, to live another day, because a person has everything ready and can use it if a need arises. "And I can take or leave it if I please": give a person a sense of control despite the fact that life is totally out of control due to pain or suffering.

Thank you so much for all the work you do. It must be very hard with all the hatred you get from those who don't understand what it's like. I talked about my issues with a close friend for the first time and I feel some relief. It's good to have everything off my chest even for a short while. I'm still going to prepare everything so that I retain control over my life, but for the time being I'm gonna see a few more sunrises. For anyone else thinking about taking the plunge, I wish u peace
