In a competitive marketplace, companies sink or swim according to their performance. The auto industry should be no different. This was actually the second bailout for Chrysler. They were bailed out in 1980 when Lee Iaacoca was the CEO. If an auto company doesn't keep up with its competitors and not manage its overhead and expenses wisely, then it deserves to go bankrupt or out of business, just like any other business in America. Bailouts are band-aid solutions for fundamental problems.

As someone who has studied the auto industry they like the Obama administration, there is a automotive economics class taught at Washington and Lee University and they got Govt and Auto Execs come and talk about the bailout. Since the Prof. is on sabbatical it isn't going to be taught in May but if it was the presidential race would be a big part of it. A interesting note is that they go up to Detroit as part of the class.

Mitt Romney is an warmongering, corporatist, and cynical politician. Yet you chose to take crude shots at his religion? What a bigot.

@tnordloh This YTY guy uses a headline from a left-leaning paper define a stance Mitt Romney took. Are you kidding me? Oh my, did you listen to the entire quote/clip from Romney? You guys are so limited with your views. Why don't you listen to the real content instead of taking an audio clip out of context. This YTY guy is about as honest as the least ethical journalist.
If Obama ended world hunger RepubliCONS would come up with some crap reason about why George Bush should get credit for it.
