FSX 737-800 departure from LAX while listening to live atc.
http://www.liveatc.net/

Simple to use. Open your browser, go to liveatc.net. and enter the ICAO code for an airport you would like to listen to. Then after making sure the airport you want is serviced by LIVEATC and that the feed status is up, choose to play it in your browser either using flash or java.

That's it; pick any airport minimize the screen and start FSX, FS9, X-Plane; its that easy. You will be listening to live real-time air traffic control while you are in your sim independent of which sim you have.

They have ample world coverage; see their coverage map: http://www.liveatc.net/feedmap/feedmap.html

Your cockpit won't be boring anymore and it won't get any more realistic than this. You are listening to real pilot and controllers live!

It is also a great tool to use to listen and improve your air traffic control transmissions and communications between atc and pilots or to just simply be entertained by controller to pilot chatter. Very helpful if you are planning to fly online (VATSIM) and use their atc service. Tune to atc they're available 24/7.

ENJOY!!!

  • How did you record the atc from the download?

  • @skypilotcmaki100 I used FRAPS to record FSX. FRAPS in addition to recording video also records Windows 7 sound. I had the LiveATC page open in the background and thus you can hear/record both FSX and ATC sound as they are playing concurrently. I was listening to Los Angeles ATC live feed from LiveATC, not recorded as I was flying in FSX.

  • where did you get the atc? is it like that for all countries or just the us?

    do you have to pay?

  • @1Joegough1 The program is free; there is a link to the site in the video's description tripleW°liveatc°net

They have worldwide coverage but not of every airport. Go to their site and look at the LiveATC Coverage Map.

The US has the most coverage and I think there is coverage of Ireland and most of Europe, but unfortunately the UK is not covered.
