BREAKING NEWS: Missing boy, Emmett Trapp, found dead

Emmett Trapp, a missing 2-year-old who vanished from his home in Dewey Monday night, was found dead Wednesday morning around 11:30 a.m., according to Prescott Valley police who were aiding in the search.

"Our searchers are heartbroken as you can imagine," Yavapai County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn said at the scene. "Our prayers go out to the Trapp family."

Search and rescue personnel located Emmett approximately one mile from his home in the 1800 block of Lavender Sage Road. The area where the body was found has been contained and investigators are treating it like a crime scene which, according to authorities, is a common protocol in any unattended death to ensure that a complete and thorough investigation can be conducted to determine the cause and manner of the death.

"We are just devastated by the loss of this little boy," D'Evelyn said. "As a parent, hug your children closer."

Why isn't the Mom in jail for neglect? You expect 2 year olds to escape. There are deadbolts, those grip things over the doorknob, jingles, etc. Especially if this kid had already gone out of sight before when playing outside (showings natural exploratory interest that 2 yr olds have). No excuses for Mom. She was not a first time Mom, Emmett seemed to have an exploratory nature...She knew that. Let's face it..this wasn't the first time this lazy sow napped with her kids. RIP Emmett..

@RANCHERITA58 get a grip and try to get over nasty thoughts of something that was a horrible accident! If this was one of your family members or a family friend you would have your thoughts change most likely unless you are one of the millions of heartless ppl who thrive on spreading nasty rumors or starting them for new purposes! This family needs to mourn and get themselves together without ppl judging on an accident, children become lost daily without tragedy!

I am agree with Mamacita, something is FISHY here!, I think is an easy way out for mothers to COVER A CRIME because almost all cases children disappear when they are "napping" or sleeping looks like an "epidemic problem" in this days, almost like people get read of dogs sending them to the streets, very convenient!. The worst is that even police are convinced of this in Emmett case they did not go deeper in the investigation of the family WE DO NOT KNOW YET WHO IS THE SLEEPING BEAUTY !
