@MaxPayne8349 The Art Deco of the old Bullocks Wilshire dept. store, Robinson's downtown and the old theaters left in ruin along Broadway. It's a fascinating city rich with history. Thankfully, as this man's research project indicates the saving on the old Wilshire Blvd. street lamps which many wouldn't even notice.

@MaxPayne8349 I agree with your comment 100%. I remember seeing it fenced off and heard of it's planned demise. Too bad the school couldn't have incorporated the entire structure as part of the campus. Places like the long gone Monarch Hotel, and the Hollywood Knickerbocker Hotel with the history of Valentino, D.W. Griffith, William Frawley. For me, the most beautiful building is LA City Hall with her somewhat simple, majestic design. The history of the Hall of Justice downtown is fascinating!

This video is so wonderfully done. I love Los Angeles, and all of its history. It allways saddens me when they keep tearing it down. I allways wanted to see the Ambassador Hotel. Even though I don't live in L.A., it made me mad to hear that the LAUSD tore it down. They are the greatest threat to all these glorious landmarks. Until their 20 billion dollar bond runs out, they will just keep building schools over top of them. The world needs more people like you, to help teach us about our history.

Fantastic and informative piece of Los Angeles and her history. Learned many things I wasn't aware of! I also think the tearing down of The Ambassador was a travesty in a day in age where preservations of such national treasures are kept instead of razed.The cemetery in The Bronx, NY City where Gaylord Wilshire is burried is most likely Woodlawn Cemetery Eric couldn't remember.
