  • Don’t be thrown by the word release, it’s golf jargon. You’re not releasing the actual club - that could be a tad dangerous!

    Releasing the club means turning the right forearm over the left through the hitting of the ball, much like a tennis player would if they played a double handed forehand top spin shot if that helps.

  • So by releasing what you actually mean is bending the path and plane, lengthening the arc and therefore hitting fat shots or just as likely hitting thins because of fear of hitting the ground early.

    You can't argue with geometry.
