@ legalize: What exactly would you recommend as a viable replacement TOMORROW for the coal and oil we are using to provide energy and fuel today? The environmentalists do not want nuclear power and are removing the dams on the rivers. I know you can't seriously respond with solar and wind. If you do, you haven't done the math and certainly do not live anywhere near Montana.
@legalizenotpenalize Furthermore, any person with some bit of common sense would be aware that while oil is becoming a more scarce resource, we have plenty of oil left on our reserves to last us well over 100 years. Obviously we can't rely on oil for that much longer, but until we are able to further develop alternative energies in a CHEAPER manner, we need to utilize the use of Montana's natural resources to lower our gas prices, create new jobs, and to get Montana back on track for the future.
@legalizenotpenalize Did you listen to this video at all? The Otter Creek Coal Track is the most natural resource rich place in the state of Montana. It contains over 100 million metric tons of coal, which is equivalent to roughly $5 billion worth. Any revenue produced from Otter Creek will be placed directly into Montana's Education Fund, thus helping to LOWER the price of tuition. AG Bullock was on the board that brought this issue to vote... a 3-2 vote... AG Bullock voted AGAINST utilizing.
once again, you guys must really be some right wing wackjob nuthead extremist group... do you not understand that allowing us to continue to rely on coal and oil will only further our dependence on an already scarce resource. at that, it would never lower oil or gas prices because it will go right into a GLOBAL market. and AG bullock is right, read ALL the reports, not just the one that suits you.
