  • instead of getting an external display from apple just get an iMac

  • Hey guys...quick question. I have the new MBA 13'' and was planning to get the imac. We can obviously use the imac as the secondary monitor to the mba but is it possible to use the MBA as the second monitor to the imac (meaning the imac is the machine I'm running and just using the MBA display)? Thanks!

  • @adz3421 yes, and all computers with Thunderbolt out

  • Does the iMac show a slightly blurry image or is it clear? Thank you!

  • Does the iMac have to be turned on? Or can it stay shut down while the Macbook powers the iMac's display? (Like the Tunderbolt displays do when hooking it up to a Macbook)

  • Does this work for a macbook pro

  • Hey John! Questions.

Im assuming that since the macbook air worked it should work for the Macbook pro? (late 2011)

And will you be able to run iMac as an external monitor while on clamshell mode?

And also can you have the iMac on while using it as a external monitor for the MPB and interchangeable between the MBP and the iMac?

  • @tribbettz no

  • Can you use the iMac just like a thunderbolt display? Like using the ports on the back as an extension for the Macbook Air?

  • @tribbettz yes you can with an application called air display for mac

  • @Koella69 nope unless there is a third party product check amazon they are good for third party products
