This video was made to show you how to teach your dog a rear cross! I use switch as my word for the rear cross. You can also use words like cross or behind.

Gonna teach this to Fathom tommorrow if I have time. About how long do you think it will take to teach?
AnchorPawsK9s 3 months ago
@AnchorPawsK9s I would do 1 or 2 steps per day. But that is just my opinion. If Fathom understands it really quickly I would do no more than 4 steps per day. Make the training sessions short (like 5-10 minutes) and fun. For all 3 parts it took my dog anywhere from a week to 4 weeks. Every dog is different. I have taught all 3 of my dog this way and it took them all different amounts of time. Just make sure you don't go too fast. If you have any trouble shooting questions feel free to message me.

qouldnt this be considered a switch rear cross is where you cross behind your dog while they are in front of you
copilotsagility 4 months ago
@copilotsagility This is how I taught my dogs to start to cross in front of me while I was behind them. This is just the groundwork to the rear cross. And they are crossing in front of me in all of these clips. (sorry i didn't really understand your comment but this is definately a rear cross)

@lexisdogs my descripition of a rear cross is running behind your dog your dog turns there head to look where you are and body follows to me this is a switch or swing as i call it where your dog changes direction by listening to your voice or watching your hand movments sorry if you didnt understand my first comment

@copilotsagility That's ok! This is how I start to teach a switch/rear cross. I call my rear crosses switch. I believe switches and rear crosses are the same thing b/c the dog is crossing in front of you and eventually will end up on the opposite side of you. THANKS FOR THE NICE COMMENT! I LOVE ALL THE POSITIVE COMMENTS!
