HAMMETT ALL THE WAY.... but slash is a good one too.... but hammett... coz the only thing gnr is good of is slash... if there is no slash.... no good gnr.,.. get it

This video showed ONE and ONLY good solo from slash. & showed ONE of a THOUSAND awesome solos from Kirk. Therefore metal and kirk win.

@217trevino Kirk Hammet solos awesome? Most of his solos sound the same haha. I'm not a hater I'm just pointing it out. I was inspired to play guitar by slash then ended playing a lot of metallica and now i've gone to more skilled stuff and all I can conclude is... Both Slash and Kirk are good at 1 thing and that's playing guitar neither of them are virtuoso Slash is better at more melodic oriented stuff and Kirk is more better at pentatomic runs.

Kirk Hammett for sure because he uses a lot of some soft stuff from san francisco that wipes out slash. Some say James hetfield rythm gutiar and lead inger from metallica writes the solos well not quite actually hammet doeas and an example is enter sandman where he wrote he solo and the lyrics too which made #1 of metallica songs. Slash is good but his slos just dont have the taste and shreading compaered to hammets level

@TheToxicLyrical690 LOL Slash is not even close to be best, Kirk is not best too, but he's better, Kirk has more experience, he played metal, rock, Slash has only couple amazing solos, well Kirk has like umm... don't really know how many, Kirk is amazing but if you want to see professional guitar player, go check Marty Friedman or Chris Broderick, those two are beasts, they are definatly better than Slash

@MotherPunker970 - My understanding is that most of the slower guitar parts of Metallica songs are played by James Hetfield, who has brilliant phrasing as well. In fact, Kirk' services are called into action mostly for the full-blown high speed picking solos. But even within those high speed solos, Kirk manages to evoke more soul with bends and his wah than other shredders. For this one must look to his influences, namely UFO, Zep, Purple, and Hendrix, and not just speed picking.

@GCLwins slash just has more of those "soul/beauty/melody" solos in his songs,since metallica is a metal band after all,i think kirk wins there too...i mean just listen to melodic/slower songs from metallica,or any slower part in a metallica song(1st thing on my mind is suicide and redemption slow part but thats just me)
