Bird Rock - San Diego Roundabouts Driving Tour

April 2011 drive through the Bird Rock Roundabouts. The Bird Rock community of San Diego used roundabouts effectively as part of a comprehensive traffic improvement plan. The project has re-invigorated a roadway segment that had lost it's mojo. The project is being heralded as a national model by the Federal Highway Administration.

The roadway was easy and pleasant to navigate. It is clearly a very successful example of a road-diet and continuous-flow roadway conversion project.
