Not a movie. An episode of Unsolve mysteries. The man who had been the boy was looking for the soldiers that had come to his house that Christmas night. He wanted to know if any had survived. He ended up finding some of them, a couple of the american's if memory serves. but it have been years since I saw the whole episode.
The Germans were Fallshirmjager, paratroopers. At this late stage, their unit had been rebuilt with young teenage boys with little military training. One such boy was in this patrol. The Americans would have difficulty carrying their wounded man while trying to find their way back to their lines. The German sergeant "suggested" to this young member of their patrol to accompany the Americans, then surrender. He protested, at first, until the German sergeant ordered him to go into safe captivity.
That was an amazing true story.
