1983 Bathurst Home Video Footage (Rare)

This footage taken by my father at the 1983 Bathurst. He was probably amongst only a few other spectators using a video camera at the event and is possibly the only private video footage taken with full access to the pits and grid of the event. (happy to be corrected if wrong)

There was 30 mins of raw footage taken, however due to youtube time constraints and viewers who want the best parts only, i have condensed it to this 7min clip.

Footage includes close ups of all the top cars, close ups of Allan Moffat, Peter Brock (RIP) etc in the pits, the start of the race, Dick Johnson trying to get the car ready before the start of the race after his big accident and many other great moments.

I have divided it up into segments:
Saturday - Qualifying, Pits
Sunday - Top of the Mountain(early), Pre Race, Grid, Start of Race, On the mountain, and drinking on the mountain

We thought this footage would interest many who are into the yesteryear side of Australian Touring Cars.

@MrFiveLeeeta Yeah it probably would be worth a bit! I don;t think it exists anymore though unfortunately. Horders have an advantage in this regard! :) Plenty of old things that are now left over.
