WWII Anti Aircraft Operations Room Inverkip

Not one of my best..A short video showing the now defunct WWII Anti Aircraft Operations Room in Inverkip Village, Scotland.
This building until recently was a time warp, containing relics of the second world war and of its more recent use as a base for the RNVR.
Sadly now decay and vandalism have rendered it a shell and it is all but sealed off to the prying eyes. The video shows remains of the buildings, its construction, switches, cableing, radio mast base. It also has a tantalising but dissapointing, glimpse of the inside of the main building using infra red photography, to enter would be too dangerous.
I also believe it has the same space underground as above although this may now be flooded.

How sad is this they r knocking down the base and building a house on it and see like u said u cant get in their is a ladder at the back and a hole in the roof

Yes, very disappointing once the headcases have been in and done their worst. I take a passing interest in this sort of stuff, very interesting to see a real piece of history. Just back from a holiday in Garlieston where the Mulberry harbours were assembeled and tested, still a few bits and pieces left lying around and the village hall has good photos of the operation during the war. Obviously TOP SECRET then, good to see now. Roddy
