Interesting, 1979 is the year this hair dryer and others with asbestos shielding were recalled.

My Mom has been using hers since oooh... 1979 I guess. Great product unless it's blowing asbestos on her head everyday!

My sister has used this hair dryer every day for the last 27 years. This thing should win the Nobel Peace Prize or something.

Hey I still have one of these (ditto) and it's been the most reliable hairdryer! Little did we know just how long these were built to last.

I think that they also have another brand at that time: "You mother gunner" hair dryer.
