The way we use our homes is changing. The home is no longer just a living environment where we sleep, eat and carry out social activities. Its also a place where we work, that we use for learning, for shopping, for playing. And with the ageing of the population, the home is also becoming a space where peoples well-being and heathcare delivery need to be adressed, so that people can remain independent and happy in their own homes, for longer.
This documentary explores the potential of inclusive design and technology to rethink the domestic space. It introduces the key themes of an international research project on future homes by Arup, DEGW and the Royal College of Art.
