No to Oakland Gang Injunctions.. The community Speaks out May 2010

We caught up with local activists and organizers George Galvis, Reginald James, Jack Brison and Manuel who have been fighting the attempts to put a gang injunction in North Oakland where crime has gone down..They explain in detail the communitie's opposition. many compare this bill to Arizona's SB 1070 where racial profiling is legal.

Are you all stupid or just from San Francisco? How dare they try to fight the decades long gang wars in Cali!! This is one of a handful of useful things that state has done right in the past 40 years. Then people try and tie this in with ACTUAL civil liberty violations happening in the country, which makes nobody want to listen to any of it. Grow up!

All these hippies in the Bay Area protesting the Injunction.. I am a Deep East Oakland native and support the injunction.. Ive shed the tears when losing a loved one to gang violence.. Now the City is finally doing something about it.. Sure its gonna affect everyone in one way or another.. But they have to start somewhere... Like ive said many times IF YOU AINT BANGING, THEN WHY YOU TRIPPN?!
