Even though you may think music like this is gone, there are bands out their like Whither the Tide (shameless plug) who are creating new music influenced by the 90s sounds. Filter's last album was pretty good too if you missed out on it.

Why is it that if two bands play the same type of music people will say the younger band is a rip off rather than a band that plays in the same syle?
When did this start? did peolple used to say "That Elvis is just a Carl Perkins rip off"?
