Jones is playing a 12 string bass - It's actually 6 string with octaves paired for each string. The bass is made my Hugh Manson who makes all his instruments. The body is made of graphite and the neck has built in LED lights that he turns on occasionally to see the frets. He plays the bass through two SWR SM-900 heads, each running through a 4 x 10 cab and a 1 x 15 cab. Jones also has a 10 string version that is a little lighter.

JPJ is playing an 87 string planet killer with nuclear butt clenching ability. Hes the only man who can handle it. I hear one of his testicels is actually made from Uranium and he farts better music than Timbaland and Beyonce will ever write.

I dunno if I'd go that far. It is epic, and better than recent QOTSA, but I wouldn't say it's better than them as a whole. Definitely better than Nirvana or Foo Fighters though, to me.
