Independent Councillor Tom Bletsoe - the UK's youngest elected councillor on BBC Breakfast

Just six weeks after his 18th birthday, schoolboy Tom Bletsoe was elected to the town council of St Ives in Cambridgeshire. Still studying for his A-Levels, committed to his local theatre group and with a part-time job in his local fish and chip shop, Tom is committed to representing the people of his constituency as an independent representative, rather than following a political party whip. As an endorsed candidate, the Independent Network arranged for Tom to appear on BBC Breakfast.
