The backstory to this match was really stupid. Sweetan came to Blanchard **halfway through the show**, gloating that Blanchard was going to lose the title because he hadn't defended it in 30 days. Blanchard went down to the ring and set this match up t keep from forfeiting. Obviously, if they wrote Sweetan to have any sense, he wouldn't have started gloating until the show was ending.
@jmissle He wasn't over when this match happened. His first push was started after this match, as the storyline went that Sweetan taught him the piledriver. But he didn't really get over until they turned him heel.
I remember as a kid watching this on the East Coast, where the WWF was putting red X's over anybody with a cut, and thinking "Jeez, that guy is going to die.".
