It is definitely easier to use the term voluntaryism to first introduce your ideals. However, I feel like I have no need to hide the capitalist theories that it supports. It makes me feel like I am trying to trick people if I do. Usually the debate goes something like this- watch?v=gwQ41Yo60og

"Free-market capitalism is a network of free and voluntary exchanges in which producers work, produce, and exchange their products for the products of others through prices voluntarily arrived at." -Murray Rothbard. Socialism and anarchy should never be mentioned in the same sentence. Socialism requires governing bodies to "properly" distribute wealth and limits individual freedom. Socialism and anarchy can not coexist.

I know what socialism and state capitalism and "laissez faire capitalism" are and I agree with Rothbard and Mises on the necessity of a rational efficient economic system with property and trade as the fundamental basis, but we disagree on semantics, and I think it's important to not revive dead words when communicating something. "Capitalism" now means state control of everything. When you say "capitalism" people are going to believe you're talking about U.S. economic policy.

Oh, I agree with you completely that people confuse state capitalism for capitalism. I personally like to refer to myself as a voluntaryist. I find it sad though that people have no understanding of capitalism, and i want to educate them on the differences of state cap and ancap. Its as if the mere mention of the word capitalism sets off some faith based anger in them. I think that using the word capitalism and discussing state capitalism can hopefully encourage people to research the difference

So next time you educate someone on economics just call it voluntaryism instead of capitalism. The word "capitalism" conjures up progressive era cartoon images of fat giant industrialists squashing some little guy.

I agree with you it does conjure up fat cat images for most. However, once you start to explain the ideals of capitalism vs state cap it gets people thinking that they may not understand their criticism of "capitalism". I hate having to invent new terms just because of close-minded people. To me Anarcho-capitalism is redundant. Any other form of cap is a version of state capitalism. I think we can still use the term capitalism and explain how it will prevent fat cats from ruling the world.

I understand what you're saying and Murray Rothbard was a brilliant economist, but don't try to revive the word "capitalism". Clearly the term has lost all meaning. It only creates lack of clarity.

I am not trying to revive the word capitalism. I am trying to explain the difference between laissez faire capitalism and state capitalism. This would be no different than explaining the different forms of socialism. The problem is most of the general populace is so dumbed down that they don't even know there are different forms of each.

"Anarchists can do damage whenever and wherever they want."

I didn't know police were so incompetent.

They are always blaming this shit on "anarchists" as if nobody but anarchists could possibly be against the police state and the G20... jesus christ, grow up, media people.
