a step by step for nail professionals on how to do the rock star toes using CND Shellac, base, color, and top coat, at your own risk of course as we are not using the product as it was intended ;o) I am getting 4 week wear out of them and they remove in 10 minutes.

Rockstar Toes V2 is up with new tips and tricks:

  • Do you have to have the lamp?

  • @ThisBitchMegan YES!!

  • no idea why this video is showing you to do it this way when its completely wrong! i've just completed my rockstar nails course with cnd and they dont tip glitter all over the nail, its done using a gel brush! any nail tech thats qualified will not be doing it this way!! there would be glitter everywhere and its most definitely not how CND teach people to do it!!! totally wrong!!

  • @91kellywright this is an old old video showing how it was done before the new method came about. I have left it up as some had linked to it and wanted people to still stop by and read the comments and see that there is a new way of doing things. If you click on my video list Rockstar V3 is the current method!

  • Hi, I love this video however my finish does not seem as shiny and sparkly as your finish even though I am following all the steps, I am using CND base coat and a CND colour however I use a different top coat is this maybe where the problem lies? Also when I buff to make it smooth the glitter seems to come off and fade and not stay sparkly. Any tips would be fab! xx

  • @lorz56 I have actually updated the method and yes the top coat totally makes a difference!! Watch the Rockstar V3 for an easier way to do things!

  • @91kellywright can you use a dust mixer to put the glitter on or will this react with the topcoat when curing?

  • You did a great job! I love doing glitter shellac especially with Martha Stewart glitter :)

  • @lorz56, you have to use the cnd shellac top coat for this to work properly but you don't buff the nails at all once its cured! base coat on, cure for 10 secs, put colour coat on, cure for 2 mins, while still tacky use a gel brush and with long quick strokes over the nail apply the glitter then put top coat on, cure for 2 mins then another coat of top coat, cure 2 mins and then take the inhibition layer off with disperse, thats it and thats the way CND do it! not this way!

  • I noticed you used a dark Opaque glitter for the blue. Do you ever have a problem with them curing because it is so dark?
