So youve decided to go with the Bright Wizard? Good choice! Well despite their crazy, mixed up hair styles! The Bright Wizard is the Orders casting DPS class (as opposed to Destructions casting DPS class the Sorceress) which packs a real punch! If you enjoy picking off critters from afar, jumping Destruction members and (hopefully) capping them before they can cut through you like butter, or just love getting #1 on the DPS charts, then this is the class for you!
In this starter guide I hope to give you an idea of what youre signing up for so you can determine if the Bright Wizard class is right for you. Ill leave the end game tactics and strategy to you
Bright Wizard Mechanic
The Bright Wizard uses the Wind of Fire enabling them to literally cook and blast their enemies from afar with their Pyromancer abilities. The problem with channeling all that destructive fire is that it has the potential of backfiring and causing damage to its caster!
Bright Wizard Masteries
Fire, fire, some more fire, and how about a little fire to spice things up? The Bright Wizard uses a wide range of fire based spells to roast the enemy.
Path of Incineration
This is both the long and short cast timer, high damage, immediate death spec.
The core abilities of this tree that gain in strength with each point spent:
* Sear (a quick cast spell that does Elemental damage)
* Flames of Rhuin (group buff to increase damage)
* Pyroclastic Surge (damages enemies and increases all their reaction timers)
* Burning Iron (damages enemies and target loses action points)
Path of Immolation
DOTS! More DOTS! Damage over time to the max! Kill your enemies slowly and painfully!
The core abilities of this tree that gain in strength with each point spent:
* Boiling Blood (damages over time, lowers Corporeal resistance)
* Detonate (damages over time, and in an area of effect)
* Flame Shield (group buff to return damage to attackers)
* Slow Boil (all opponent cool down timers increase by 5s, damage at end of effect)
Path of Conflagration
Multiple target path, focusing on Area of Effect (AoE) damage.
The core abilities of this tree that gain in strength with each point spent:
* Scorched Earth (AoE damage)
* Fiery Blast (target and AoE damage)
* Flame Breath (large AoE damage directly in front of the Bright Wizard)
* Rain of Fire (rain down some flaming AoE)
* Choking Smoke (AoE and silence)
Stats
Strength: We're not a melee class so we don't care about melee damage. Ignore it.
Willpower: This increases your healing and your chance to disrupt magical attacks. Not highly important.
Weapon Skill: Increases chance to parry and armor penetration. I wouldnt count on your parry ability, so dont worry about this one either.
Initiative: Increases your chance to evade and reduces chance of being critical hit which is never a bad thing. Again, I wouldnt count on your evade ability so dont worry about this one.
Wounds: This increases your hit points. ALWAYS good!
Toughness: Reduces all damage taken. This will help you survive long enough to kill!
Intelligence: Increases Magic Damage and reduces your chances of being disrupted. Major skill right here!
Ballistic Skill: Useless, ignore!
Bright Wizards should focus on raising their Intelligence, Wounds, and Toughness most of all. The MAIN stat however is Intelligence.
