Returning in 2012 with his fourth artist album, The Agony & The Ecstasy, High Contrast is set to reinstate his reputation at the top table with this superb twelve-track long player.

Featuring an extensive range of collaborators, from established, worldwide superstars such as Tiesto and Underworld to up-and-coming fresh new talent such as Med School signing Lung and Jessy Allen, this truly is an album of contrasts. Hospital ever present Liane Carrol, who you may recognise from London Elektricity live, aswell as Chase & Status / Breakage vocalist extraordinaire Claire Maguire and Kid Adrifts Selah Corbin also feature on the album.

High Contrast himself describes The Agony & The Ecstasy as more personal than any other album hes made, so prepare to be moved with some heartfelt melodies as well as the uplifting anthems which have his signature sound written all over them and push him back into the spotlight.

  • hmm this is pretty interesting, that melody is really deep. Listen to the melody change in the second middle of period, like in 1:40. The synth make the melody oscilate quickly between a short note span, so basically there is the main note which you can mainly hear, but also a small side note which created the synth oscillator, and that side note melody is DAMN good. Listen to it's story... High contrast suprised me once again!

  • THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE BANGOR!

  • just sad, it really is going down with hospital...such a shame

  • It seems that if I listen to this album and try not to think of it as the usual dnb or anything from High Contrast, but rather as some synthy indie electronica dnb I quite like it.

  • @jehyjay well if your not taking any notice why did you reply?! massive logic fail my friend! and your point is stupid anyway, so i dont have a clue about anything because i have my own opinion? one that happens to be different to yours? fuck off. i can like and dislike whatever music i please and there is nothing you cant do about it.

  • N no, before some CUNT says it I'M NOT A HATER, I own 2 of the previous albums. For me the hospital stuff isn't as good since sick music 2, I don't know why. Enjoyed London eleks last album. Used to love logistics but even he is going in different directions. Maybe I'm loosing my taste in it all fuck knows

  • I'm really not a big fan of this. I know its different n blah blah blah but its too different, and sounds NOTHING like his old stuff. I'm not saying dissolve with the old, but for me this sounds abit to trance / dance inspired, even though he did once mention his old stuff was inspired by the early 90's dance scene stuff. Tiesto must have been wispering in his ear. I really hate the way he has used the vocals and the beat sounds like it was tailor made for some new age teen hippie

  • @xprestonx - having read your comment I can now safely say, I will not taking any notice of what you've put because you clearly don't have a clue about anything!

I WILL be buying this album on iTunes as soon as its out and cannot wait, high contrast always thinks OUTSIDE of the box and keeps it fresh!

  • @AccountsAreOverrated gtfo faggot hipster

  • BOMB !!!

  • @AccountsAreOverrated haha mainstream?! you do realise your listening to High Contrast, one of the most mainstream drum n bass acts around. has been for many years, not that you would know, cos you would have only been about 10 when he first came on the scene.

  • @xprestonx Gtfo with your mainstream ass.
