The big problem is that both the Fandom and the Hatedom of Glee see Glee as a show of song covers. That is false. This is the show that deals with bullying, sexuality questioning, character building, and parent-child relationships.
In fact, the cast do have genuine talent. Just watch Glee live and Lea Michele's old Broadway role of Spring Awakening.

@sportschic5646 It's just him thanking teachers. It doesn't have to tie into the show in any way (tho it does because it's set in a school). Maybe teachers being underpaid is something he feels strongly about and this is his shot to say it to the public.

Glee makes me laugh and cry... because of the music, the drama, the good quality episodes and bad quality episodes... Can't imagine life without GLEE !!

I saw Season 1 earlier this year on NetFlix VOD. I was surprised at how genuinely funny the show is while tackling issues relevant to teens and adults in meaningful, no easy fixes, ways. The ensemble cast is wonderful but kudos must go to Jane Lynch - her insane antics as Sue are hilarious and the reactions of long-suffering objects of her wrath complement the comedy perfectly. I never tire of quips about Will's hair. Amazon had each 2011 episode 1 day after airing so I'm an official Gleek.
