does any body know how i can delete a program :beginning from the screen you get in the beginning when you press F8 on an xp . because of that program i can't start up properly.

Hi Mitchell, the diskpart utility in Windows XP will not recognize USB flash drives as disks. Are you running Windows Vista or greater? If so try reseating the USB stick in a different slot.

To fix this:

Insert DVD drive of Windows

Assuming your DVD drive letter was E:

in command prompt

E:

cd boot

bootsect /nt60 X:

where x: is the drive letter of your bootable USB device

You forgot one important step, although this may work without this step its not fool proof. If the USB device does not contain a MBR the BIOS will skip the device as a potential bootable device and thus it will not be bootable. The BIOS looks at the MBR of your storage devices to find bootable media. If no MBR exists, no bootable device.

This does make it bootable right like im not trying to be dumb but any video i watch this is the same way you did it does it make it bootable in the way you can put on OS on it and boot from it.. like for Windows XP will it make Windows XP boot from the USB flash because i have a problem I get an error saying something about the inf.txt is missing and stuff so i need to know will it boot an OS from the usb flash drive.
