It wouldn't surprise me if the Cardinals pursue Street, but I don't think it will happen. Someone else will give more to get him. Keep in mind Street also has an injury issue. I think the Cardinals have had about enough of injury prone closers...
i think the cards should try trading rick ankiel like you said and chris duncan even though for me however it would hurt to lose rick because he is a tremendous outfielder and he is productive at the plate he had 25 homers but an injury messed him up and chris duncan was good but i dont know what happened to him. having holliday will provide so much hitting talent albert pujols of course 37 hr .357 average, ryan ludwick or rick ankiel troy glaus who still has steam shumaker and yadi.
I, for one didn't want this deal to happen and it is now officially DEAD! Woo Hoo!
Duncan's career might be over, his back and neck injury are thought to be more sever than originally anticipated. The reason for Duncan's decline is his lack of discipline at the plate combined with a bad neck and back. He has little to no trade value.
I myself love Aaron Miles. However, he is not an every day second baseman. He's better used as a platoon guy, a guy that plays every so often. When he starts over a long period of time his numbers are way down.
That, and he's not a lock to come back. He's eligible for free agency.
You have to have more production out of the second base position than Miles gives on a consistent basis.
I love Miles. He is in fact my favorite Cardinal. But he's not an everyday guy.

p.s. they cards do not need a 2nd baseman, miles is awsome!

Left handed relief, one or two starters, second baseman and a shortstop with hopefully one of those two positions yielding an impact bat.
