@mashafasha5 HIPSTER! But eh, i mean this album was phenominal, but James suffered vocal damage in the Awake era, and since, hasn't been able to do the same that he could. Their music however, has evolved in every album.

@mashafasha5 I see where you're coming from. A lot of bands have a special energy in their early days, irregardless of the quality of their music. Dream Theater had a special something in this era that they never really recaptured. I do love their recent stuff though, and the new album does hark back to Images & Words and Awake a little bit.

@mashafasha5 All bands? Not really. Look at Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Yes, and Genesis for some counterexamples. Even with Dream Theater, their earliest stuff was with Charlie Dominici, not this.
