What a loss to the world. This song takes me right back to realising how much I loved music. This guy is amazing. One day there will be a party Billy, and when we all are up there with you, all of us 80's fans - and you are going to do a gig for us! @djquirke1 Not that The Associates were without a drugs past, as Alan Rankine forever reminds us. It's probably one of the least interesting things about the group, though.

God the 80s were good, there were a million and one groups around like The Associates, all good at what they did... such a pity the modern charts are full of hippty hop someone versus someone rubbish... they could all learn from this sort of stuff.

@iansmithphotos My point of view has always been that the UK singles chart back then was much more of a free-for-all; groups as inventive as this could be considered mainstream. There's no chance of that happening now.
