Classic waltz with Jack Owens singing and the Roy Shield Orchestra from late 1940's or early 1950's.
Roy Shield, also known as Roy Shields and Leroy Shield, was the same one who did the music for the Little Rascals and Laurel and Hardy.
Jack Owens, the "Cruising Crooner" was popular as a singer and songwriter with several hit songs.
I did some research, and it turns out that Shield stared his musical career as a pianist and conductor for Victor in 1922.

Long, long time ago
Someone I know
Had a little red canoe,
In it room for only two.
Love found its start
Then in my heart,
And like a flower grew.

What a delicate piece—it skips before the vocals though, I hope it isn't scratched.

I have a copy of this from when it was first published, just the sheet music for piano. It belonged to my great great great aunt.
