Chief of the Mardi Gras Indians. Tootie Montana died of a heart attack while addressing the New Orleans City Council. The last jazz funeral prior to Hurricane Katrina.

  • Just got into black Indian culture and music three years ago! One of the few chiefs I have heard of and totally cool! I wish we had something like this up in Canada...the Native culture here is secluded and not displayed proudly like in NOLA! I wish I could go there:(

  • He'll always be the "prettiest" for what he did for the Indians and this city such a sad day but you know he's watching over all of us now
