This year's Spring gala was a fundraiser for the construction of a new GWR 4-6-0, "Betton Grange".
Locos in steam were (visiting) LNER D.49 246 "Morayshire", B.1 1306 "Mayflower", LMS 6100 "Royal Scot", GWR Small Prairie 5526, 3440 "City of Truro" and Dukedog 99107, and (resident) Pannier Tank 6430, Large Prairie 5199, 0-6-2T 5643 and "Black 5" 44806, renumbered 44801 for the duration to simulate a Scottish based engine.
Also visiting were a "Beavertail" observation car and a GWR Inspection saloon.
The event finished with a cavalcade of all the locos coupled together between Deeside and Carrog; I managed to catch the last five running up through Berwyn in sunshine to join the procession.
Thanks, Bob. Well, the Goons did get away with a lot in French, didn't they?

This slideshow should have had musical accompaniment, but YouTube weren't at all keen. :-(
For the record, the tracks were "Gone Dead Train" by Nazareth, "I'm Goin' Back" by The Byrds, and "End of the Line" by The Traveling Wilburys.
