Kenji Matsui explains the new Jodo moves as fixed by the All Japan Kendo Federation in 2003. There are 12 basic moves and 12 sets of moves. Because both hands are used, Jodo is one of the ancient fighting techniques that extremely improves body balance.

  • No, Judo is weaponless Japanese "wrestling", Jodo is the fighting art of defending yourself with a stick against a samurai.

  • I see elements we also learn in Aikijo.

  • white hakama looks cool

  • @muker123 lol

  • That was nice to watch...

  • @felixfruehauf More simply and literally put, Judo is "Soft way", and Jodo is "4 foot stick way".

  • Thanks

  • There is a All Japan Kendo Federation "Seitei" version of Jodo that contains 12 kata (ran ai being number 12) from the Shinto Muso Ryu tradition.

That is what he is describing.

  • this is Shinto Muso-ryu Jo Ran'ai, not Kendo Federation .
