If this game was under NCAA rules, 9.2.a.1(d) applies: "Any delayed, excessive, prolonged or choreographed act by which a player (or players) attempts to focus attention upon himself (or themselves)." The NCAA has repeatedly pointed to this rule to say that plays such as this one are illegal. The officials should have penalized the offense 15 yards for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.

@mtn335 Most levels of this sport have a rule similar. Professional, College, High School, even my YMCA grid kid team had rules to prevent plays such as this.
