A. Jack In A Box
B1. One More
B2. Zulu Stomp

Subzee-D is the newest name to join the burgeoning Dub Police camp, and the young producer has come out of the blocks guns blazing with his debut EP for the label, immediately showing why he has been at the receiving end of so much attention in recent months. So we proudly welcome Subzee-D to the fold with this three track EP for Dub Police, an explosive introduction to a new talent that has been turning heads lately with his productions.

Jack In A Box heads straight for the jugular. Opening with twilight synths and broad strokes of atmosphere, the drums and bass rise through the ether casting a shadow over the track until they unleash the full brunt of their force. The kick drums thud and the snares snap as the metallic bassline reverberates chaotically through the track casting out forceful sub ripples. Up next, One More switches things up nicely. Drifting in on sweeping pads and skittering percussion the track trails off dissipating into the air before dropping into a menacing 4x4 stomp. Driving forward, Subzee releases layers of percussion as the mutating bassline rips through the track. Refusing to let up the pressure, the EP is rounded off by the gargantuan Zulu Stomp . Motored by a punishing drum line, the watertight rhythm section provides the vehicle for the growling bassline and menacing synth hook to throw themselves through the speakers.

Having graduated from years learning his craft producing grime, garage and later drum and bass, it is Birmingham-based producer Subzee-D's more recent experiments with dubstep that have brought his name to a lot of people's attention. Already getting support from the likes of Skream, Trolley Snatcha, Benga and Doctor P as well as radio play from Kiss FM to 1Xtra, he has a bright future.
