    Oh, yeah. In the military it is in meters. But it doesn't matter what you use in the civilian world, you can use cubits and furlongs for units of measure if you want. As long as it makes sense to you. I use yards because most topos I use have a scale in miles and not kilometers. Yards are easier to convert to miles for me and vice versa.

    Use whatever you want.

  • Very good video. Another good way to remember the declination is "West best, East least." Soif you have declination of 10 degrees east you would subtract. 10 degrees west you would add. This works good on maps such as national geographic's where they have a different looking compass rose that just has written on it 10 degrees East or West.
