My name is Marco Quiroz. I am a poultry veterinarian and I am the, the Product Manager for Biologics here in Novus International.

Coccidiosis is, I would say is the most costly disease in poultry. It costs approximately three billion dollars around the globe in prevention and treatment, and also what they happen in production, the damage that costs us in production. So we have tools and we have the expertise to design Coccidiosis control programs utilizing the solutions from the nutrition standpoint and the vaccine we have with all combined it will, we have a much better coccidiosis control. So we solve the problem for the customers.

What we have in Novus is a preventive medicine solution. It's a coccidiosis vaccine that what it does is when you apply the vaccine a day of age in the chickens, it will protect the birds against the disease through the whole life of the bird. But we don't only utilize that vaccine. We also combine that with nutrition solutions in order to have a complete support package.

Hello: Preventing these diseases is often easier than trying to treat and control them. Good sanitation in the poultry house, washing boots and clothing between caring for different groups of chickens, and good rearing practices will help to prevent disease in your poultry flock.

You can find more information by visiting the 4-H Global Knowledge website, clicking on "Learning Tools" and referring to the "Caring for Chickens" section.

Best of luck with your chickens!

Mortality in chickens can be caused by many diseases.

Information that must be known in advance is the age of chickens that died?, It happens whether acute or chronic? and its symptoms?

in young chickens under 35 days old, common diseases arise and can cause death is a newcastle disease and Gumboro. acute in older chickens, ND or HPAI. This is also acute.

Moderate chronic disease can cause death if untreated, mis treatment.
