Chronic ear infections are an unfortunately common problem in some dogs and rarely cats, because of these problem the ear canal suffer severe changes due to the chronic infection/inflammation. Because of this, the ear canal close completely perpetuating the infection, inflammation and pain. The only way to fix this vicious circle is to surgically open the ear canal.
Only your veterinarian can recommend this procedure for your dog, it is the last resource before having to remove the whole ear canal (TECA). This procedure it is also called lateral ear canal resection.

Always consult your veterinarian for the best care for your pet.

  • Muy docente. Enhorabuena por los videos y gracias por ese ingles tan entendible, aunque con ese apellido algun pariente andaluz tienes q tener por ahí

  • this dog's ear looks pretty hyperplastic...i was just wondering if there was any reason in particular a TECA/TECABO wasn't done instead of the lateral ear canal resection?
