Don't shoot me but ... I actually like Damien's version more (that being said, I know/love more songs by Snow Patrol than songs by Damien).

Actually have to admit, Gary sounds like he's singing this just for the sake of doing the cover. He's playing the chords, he's hitting the notes, but there's a definite absence of something here...

only damien rice can sing this and have you feeling like someone stabbed you in the liver and you're rolling on the floor bleeding. damien rice has his melancholy, gary has his sadness - it just so happens that this cover didnt work.

Thanks for all the comments, positive and negative! Everyone has their own opinion and in mines Gary does a cracking job taking this song on! Was quite a gutsy thing to do with all the love for the original.
