The wife has to pick a side, either the husband or Kael, and apparently she chose Kael and thus killed her husband with a dagger. I'm not sure but I think she did kill herself too

@TheUndeadscape no, he was saved and became one of the blood elves serving the horde while she ended up serving Kael'thas out there in Outland. He then went to raid the place and found her there. They then met up later on and she killed him. That's how I interpret it
