If I'm not mistaken, this seems more like from after West Pullman to Kensington and not from Racine. If it was from Racine, where's the two-track section?

Its so strange how slowly you seem to be going when you're in one of those things, but then when you're waiting at the station and an express roars by, you see that you're flying.

That looked like the Blue Island branch because that is the only branch in the electric district that operates on a single-track..

I enjoyed watching this video because we never rode on this line while we lived in Chicago. We mostly used the trains on the main line because we lived in Hyde Park. My father worked at the University of Chicago and he wanted to live close to his job. Since I grew up on the south side during the 1960's, I remember riding those ugly green cars which the Illinois Central used for commuter service. We had to move from Chicago before they bought those fancy double-decker cars which they use now.
