The first two people I'm bitch slapping when I get to the afterlife are Ian and Kurt.

@Galerius292 Post-Punk.

Closer and Unknown Pleasures are both masterpieces. Its amazing the progression in their sound from UP to Closer, its just awful that there wasn't more Joy Division albums, it would have been amazing to see where they would have gone had Ian Curtis not offed himself. :(

Joy Division por siempre ...

The Joy Division sound is really the Martin Hannett sound. That producer never gets enough credit. He also produced U2's first single -- 11 O'Clock Tick Tock -- and it has a similar sound to JD. (Trivia tidbit: U2 were present at the studio when JD were recording Closer).

When I first heard this song I swear the melancholy stuck with me for days. This song (album) is amazing it’s not easily accessible but it does what art is supposed to do, it makes you feel something.

The bass and Ian curtis voice are iconic of Joy division.

@CHADandTracyLoveYou are you kidding? hopefully so. Cuz what you typed is complete shit.

@CHADandTracyLoveYou Are you talking about Still? That was a compilation album of unused stuff, this was their last real album, since Ian Curtis' suicide.
A long time before I knew what Joy Division was, I heard this song, I heard the drum beat that opens it. It always stuck with me, and then I discovered the band and they're one of my favorites.
