The most anticipated event for the whole day: The Under 18 Men's 4x100m Relay at the St Leonards Athletics Centre, for some it would be the last time they would run for their school. Private School's from all over Tasmania were represented at this event.
Lane 1: Scotch Oakburn College (Ayres, Bayles, McKay, Poynter)
Lane 2: The Friends School (Kennedy, Hutton, Chung, Brennen)
Lane 3: Guilford Young College (Eyles, Sweet, Pitchford, Nichols)
Lance 4: The Hutchins School (Foster, Sheppard, Robinson, Crosswell)
Lane 5: Launceston Church Grammar School (Da Seymour, De Virieux, Smith, Burleigh)
Lane 6: St Patricks College (Simons, McCormack, Matthews, Chugg)
Lane 7: Marist Regional College (Harris, MacNair, Young, Swinden)
Lane 8: St Brendan Shaw College (McGinley, Gilham, Lutwyche, Snepvangers)
The battle was to be between Grammar and Hutchins. Grammar won the Open Boys relay from the previous week by a fair margin. Hutchins had a secret weapon: Sam Crosswell. Crosswell is the son of football great Brent Crosswell and is the fastest U20 in the 400m in Australia.
The battle was to be fierce!
